Inon Rettig

Graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Arts & Design’s department of industrial design in Jerusalem, experience in designing home and kitchen related products, furniture and lighting fixtures for various companies and institutions.
 Experience in product design from the initial concept and planning, to selecting materials & technology, constructing a proto-type, and moving from development to mass production.
 Native English speaker, thorough knowledge of the world of global design, emphasis on quality, excellent teamwork skills and interpersonal relations.

Experience:

2011- Present: Independent projects as part of a design group – “Four’n’Five design group”
 Planning & execution of design projects for souvenirs, kitchen and household products, furniture and lighting fixtures.
 Use of composite materials, concrete, plastic, ceramics, wood, textile, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
 Clients: Tel-Aviv Museum of Art, “Mody” Ceramics and Interior design, “Monkey Business” Design, the city of Herzliya, and more.

2010 – 2012: Keter Plastic Ltd.’s d-Vision internship program for product development & design
 Team planning and design of plastic products, emphasis on garden furniture, conducted within the company’s development department
 Market analysis, market segmentation, and competitor analysis, concept design and 3-D simulations for administrative approval.
 Creation of blueprints and specifications, material selection, adaptation for production technology, quantity analysis and construction of proto-types.
 Transfer from development stage to mass production, collaboration with engineers for quality and durability tests, and applying adjustments to the specifications.
 Among our projects: garden furniture, table and chair sets for the European market, bookcases, design projects for “Alessi – Italian Design” company, and more.

2010: Final graduate project – stool seats & lighting fixtures using Vacuum Forming technology
 Managing the full industrial product design process, academic design research, transforming a known technology flaw into an innovative design
 The project’s goal: taking a technology’s weak-spot and transforming it into an original advantage for industrial designers.

2009: Design and construction of Fair-Trade stalls in shopping malls
 Comprehensive management of the project; from concept selection to execution while taking into account the organization’s needs and values. This includes designing the stalls with recycled materials, integrating them into the mall’s interior design, and conducting carpentry work.
 Working in collaboration with marketing executives and graphic designers in order to integrate the industrial products with the existing design brand.

2009: Structural design project for preschools, initiated by Mrs. Aliza Olmert & the JOINT org’
 Upgrading the design of structures intended for preschools; combining versatile and innovative partitions in order to better distribute space and accessibility
